Dissecting you by ErikTjernlund Dissecting you by ErikTjernlund
Now that Iíve cut open this heart that Iíve made.
Iím going to eat it and drink it dry.
Like what you did to me, I created you.
On a whim I stood there with random ingredients.
With a heart shaped form from the nearest store.
There you stood, with love for the both of us.
But now I have to cut your jelly heart open.
To see whatís there, oh, it's empty.
And I ate it, it tasted terrible.

Hell yeah, this is a very original photo. The image alone is brings lots of different interpretations of the meaning of the bleeding heart. What makes this original is the fact its a jellylike (probably edible) and which is associated with sweet foods and sugar, similar meaning of love and the heart (soul and emotions). Obviously this shows the heart being cut open like as if its being purposely being "broken" by someone (a lover maybe). "Dissecting you", the title explains that this individual is dissecting the jelly-heart and we all know that dissecting is to investigate, find internally. It might also mean that this "heart" has a problem like a disease, but can be metaphorically explained with it being "broken". The syrup (which looks like bleeding), proves this heart is "broken" and needs to be healed.

The photo is of high painstaking quality and gives the audience (viewer) a better view of the detail of the hearts rip and the "cracks" inside. Although some might argue this is a bit corny with the whole "love is drama" and emo-like themes. But really this is still a amazing photo i would love to see more of these photos from the community on valentines day.

To summarise, a great photo. Amazing vision of love and the heart. Great metaphorically in depth and understanding. A original, industrious deviant-member which inspires me and most likely many other artists out there.

This is a very amazing and a spectacular piece of art that I've ever seen on dA. It's not only creative and meaningful, it's also very original in the sense of naming it "Dissecting You", which gives viewers a variety of different interpretations.

On one hand, it could symbolise or metaphorically represent the heartbreak we feel when we lose someone very special to us and love deeply yet it could also refer to discovering the emotions felt internally, which makes us human. And the lighting and quality of the photograph is just right.

Overall, this is a very touching and valuable artwork and I look forward to seeing more in the near future :)
